June 19 2009Tomorrow is going to be Saturday which means that it will be my last day home before going to Mass. for my creative writing workshop. I'm so excited to have Kelly Link and Holly Black as my teachers, but I'm also very nervous. I'm more nervous about taking the plane and bus to the campus and getting all registered and stuff, though. I've traveled alone twice before, but my stomach still gets all knotted when I think about it. Plus, the first time I traveled alone doesn't count because I was with my camp friends and I was going HOME to an airport I know. This time, I'm GOING to an airport and area I have no idea of and it is very scary. Then again, when heading home the last time, my plane was delayed until 10:00 at night when it was supposed to leave at 7:00. AND my phone wasn't working, AND by then all my friends had gone. That was a nightmare of an experience.
I guess the point is that even though I have traveled alone/semi-alone before, it's scary.
But I'm going to have a blast once I get to Juniper. I mean, come on...HOLLY BLACK and KELLY LINK. I'm so excited!
Moving further, I can't wait until the end of July when I get to go to my Japanese language immersion camp, Mori no Ike, for four weeks. I really miss all my friends from there. It's going to be great! I'm also kind of excited about visiting colleges the week after Juniper. However, I'm not extremely excited....it just makes me think about how I only have two more years of high school left.
I technically can get my license in July, but I have TONS of hours left to complete. So...technically, I cannot get my license yet. BUT if I magically had all my hours completed and I felt I was ready...I would be able to get it in July. I'm not really excited about driving...I don't like to do it even though it is convenient, but it is exciting thinking about how I will get my license sometime soon. It is a major step in my life.
I know you're not a big fan of hiphop, but these are cool and Japanese, so that's a plus. And if you end up liking them, their songs will probably be stuck in your head.
